I very much believe in exploring the intersection of maths, science, art and design and the resulting possibilities once we break down the traditional barriers between these areas, and the barriers to education. I think this is especially true in engaging and inspiring young minds and making STEM education accessible and relevant. This can be achieved through innovative technology, inspired pedagogy and embracing an open, collaborative culture.

I have always been passionate about science education and exploring the realm of interactive learning and creative play. Through my experiences in various roles, I have managed and produced OER, in collaborative processes with the community, helped grow communities of open practice, worked with the Department of Basic Education to design and conduct the training for all Subject Advisors in the country, including aspects on OER use and implementation, and I am now the lead for our learning design and analytics at Siyavula Education.
